Battlefield Hardline

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Battlefield Hardline released on March 17th, 2015. Taking a detour from its traditional, war like, military persona, Battlefield Hardline is / was an enjoyable story (game) full of plot twists, memorable characters, outstanding graphics that hold up even today (as of writing this blog post), and addicting gameplay that really serves, both, stealth players, and the traditional war like (non-stop action) players! Developed by Visceral Games, this episodic, police game, takes you on a thrill ride that you should definitely seek out if you haven't already.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Battlefield Hardline is a game that I truly adored from a game design and storytelling prospective. To start, Battlefield Hardline's story is an extremely well written plot that includes many talented voice actors (and screen actors) and combining this with excellent gameplay and realistic graphics... it wa...

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

- Reviewed on  Wii  - Kirby's Return to Dream Land released on October 24th, 2011.  Developed by HAL Laboratory, and published by Nintendo, this Wii game in the historic Kirby series is / was a huge hit with its massive fanbase. This 2D platforming game was a lot of fun to play and with its great multiplayer aspect(s), collectibles, and even side content, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is undoubtedly one of my favorites on the console (as of writing this blog post) and is well worth its VGX nomination for Best Wii Game.  I did have a few issues with the game, but surprisingly there was hardly anything negative about my experience with this 2011 game.  There were little to no glitches or audio mishaps, and I was pleasantly enthused throughout the entire six and a half hour long (average) game! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Kirby's Return to Dream Land's story is about (SPOILER) an unknown individual ...

SpongeBob's Boating Bash

- Reviewed on  Wii  - SpongeBob's Boating Bash released on March 2nd, 2010.  With two different versions of SpongeBob's Boating Bash being released, one on Wii and the other on Nintendo DS, I will be talking about the superior (in my opinion) release, on the Wii console.  Developed by ImPulse Games, SpongeBob's Boating Bash is a Racing game filled with action packed Derby modes, and of course, Racing. All of which featuring SpongeBob characters too! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... The story for SpongeBob's Boating Bash revolves around the typical SpongeBob Driver's License trope.  SpongeBob fails his driver's test, which happens to be the game's tutorial mode, and then the sour Sponge is then approached by newcomer to the SpongeBob universe, his new driving teacher (and future antagonist), Seymour. The cutscenes aren't the best, visually, and that is disappointing considering older SpongeBob games f...

I Spy Spooky Mansion

- Reviewed on  Wii  - I Spy Spooky Mansion released on October 19th, 2010.  With such a simple concept, such as the game of I Spy, developers, Scholastic Corporation, managed to create quite a successful game amongst critics.  As I played this Wii game, I was ecstatic about the riddles after a short while, but shortly found myself dreading the rest of this experience.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... I Spy Spooky Mansion's story is a nice, kid friendly plot that is about the player(s) entering a haunted mansion and being greeted by the main guide of the game / riddles, a tiny skeleton named Skelly.    The door closes behind the player in a classic haunted mansion trope, and now the player must venture through the creepy mansion and solve all the riddles in order to collect pieces to find a way out. All the game requires is a single Wii Remote, and if you want, you can play with others in c...

Mario Super Sluggers

- Reviewed on  Wii  - Mario Super Sluggers released on June 19th, 2008.  With many Mario and Sports crossover games, you tend to get some flops here and there, but you also tend to get some outstanding hits every now and then. This can be because of either the particular sport in question, the amount of content in it, the roster, or simply the gameplay. Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii console was upon my personal, outstanding hits, growing up, and it is no surprise to me that this game from way back in 2008 (as of writing this blog post) received nominations and eventually ended up on the Nintendo Selects list.  With a huge roster of players and a healthy number of stadiums, items, powers, and side content, Mario Super Sluggers offers a fun and long-lasting baseball experience that will keep you wanting to come back and play one more game! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Mario Super Sluggers starts with...

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator

- Reviewed on  PSP  - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator released on October 1st, 2010. This tactical shooter title for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) was developed by Virtuos and published by Ubisoft during the handheld's golden era.  Though the multiplayer modes aren't as accessible anymore (as of writing this blog post), the campaign for this neat and dandy game was oddly, really interesting, and with great music and even voice acting, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator is a great title to have for your PSP game collection! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... This PSP exclusive, as a part of the vast Tom Clancy game series, is approximately 2-4 hours long and features a handful of achievements to earn (such as medals), 12 campaign missions, nine playable characters, and a plethora of weapons and gear to use / unlock. You will evidently unlock more weapons, gear customization, and more, by simply playing the miss...

Dying Light 2 Stay Human

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Dying Light 2 Stay Human released on February 4th, 2022. Back in 2015, Techland developed the critically acclaimed, Dying Light, which went on to get excellent reviews from various gaming sites. I personally love Dying Light, so when I got the chance to pick up and play its sequel, I was fully on board and expecting to put hours into this world! Surely enough, I did just that, and although the story wasn't the absolute best it could've been (in my opinion, considering Dying Light 1's excellent plot), I still had a blast with the weapons, huge map, music, and much more! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... The plot takes place in the same universe as the first Dying Light.  With a massive pandemic turning civilization into monsters, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is about a second, more deadly pandemic, that is rampaging through the city of Villedor.  With the city in chaos, it is up to yo...
