Bioshock 2

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Bioshock 2 released on February 9th, 2010.  Also, Bioshock 2 re-released as a part of the Bioshock Collection on September 13th, 2016.  I played Bioshock 2 as a part of the Bioshock Collection (which also includes Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite) and right off the bat, I immediately loved this Bioshock title way more than the original Bioshock game.  Bioshock 2 was a step down from Bioshock Infinite, but it was a major improvement of the original, first Bioshock game which released three years prior, on August 21st, 2007.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Bioshock 2 takes place in the same underwater city as the first Bioshock game, Rapture.  I love games (and movies) that get right to the story / conflict from the very beginning. You play as a Big Daddy inside a big suit of metal armor and right off the bat, in the beginning, you feel indestructible and not afraid of y...

Kirby's Adventure

- Reviewed on  NES Classic  - Kirby's Adventure released on March 23rd, 1993 (in Japan). On May 1st, 1993, Kirby's Adventure released in North America and then released in Europe on December 9th, 1993.   Definitely one of the most colorful and cheerful games I have ever played, Kirby's Adventure puts you in control of the famous Pink Character Kirby, as he travels across many different worlds and fights many different enemies.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... This game was a pleasant surprise, as I never played a traditional Kirby game before (only as Kirby in Smash Bros.). With this being said, I sadly did not connect with this game emotionally.  I loved the controls and the enemies and the landscape as it was, but towards the end of the game, I started hoping that the game was almost over.  In Kirby's Adventure you take control of Kirby himself (as mentioned earlier) as you clear out sta...

Life is Strange

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Life is Strange released on January 30th, 2015.  Easily one of my favorite games of all time, Life is Strange is / was an episodic, graphic adventure video game with no horror, no shooting, no insane video game tactics, instead it is / was all about the story element, and what an emotional roller coaster this game turned out to be! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Life is Strange takes place in a fictional town called Arcadia Bay and is in the state of Oregon. We follow the main protagonist Max Caulfield and her time in Arcadia Bay, specifically the senior high school named Blackwell Academy.  Max Caulfield is attending Blackwell Academy for photography and soon she realizes that (SPOILER) she has powers to reverse / alter time!  Max has a bad dream about a huge storm destroying all of Arcadia Bay on Friday (in-game days) and Max fully embraces her time altering powers to not on...

Super Mario Bros. 2

- Reviewed on  NES Classic  - Super Mario Bros. 2 released in October, 1988.  This title was / is a sequel to the iconic first game, Super Mario Bros. This game is famously known to be a re-skin of another game title, called Doki Doki Panic.  The backstory of Super Mario Bros. 2 and its release is that the traditional / original Super Mario Bros. 2 game consisted of extremely hard to beat levels and was never released in the states, or anywhere as a matter of fact, except Japan.  Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan had the same appearance / look as the original game (Super Mario Bros.) but had (as mentioned) really hard levels to accomplish.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Super Mario Bros. 2 consists of four playable characters, and you can choose either one of the four after completing every level, so you don't have to choose and stick with just one character. These characters consist of...   ...

Far Cry New Dawn

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Far Cry New Dawn released on February 15th, 2019.  Far Cry New Dawn is / was a narrative sequel to the previous Far Cry Installment, Far Cry 5.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... This game takes place 17 years after the big bomb (Known in-game as "The Collapse") was dropped in Montana (Ending of Far Cry 5) and now the whole state has reformed in a way, and is now a colorful, bright setting for our new Protagonist.  You have the option to play as a male or female just like in the previous Far Cry 5 game.  I will start off by saying this, I believe this game should have been a DLC for Far Cry 5, instead of its own game. I still fully enjoyed my experience and I love the nods to Far Cry 5 (Easter Eggs) within New Dawn.  There are / were new vehicles to drive, new weapons to use, new companions to fight alongside, and new side quests to accomplish.  The basic / main fo...

Super Mario Bros. 3

- Reviewed on  NES Classic  - Super Mario Bros. 3 released on October 23rd, 1988.  This title in the Mario Series would go on to become one of the most beloved / popular games of all time, earning releases on other platforms such as the Game Boy Advance and being featured in Arcade Cabinets.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... The NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) was the original platform for the third iteration of Super Mario Bros.  On November 11th, 2016, Nintendo released the NES Classic which was a limited time sale / production.  This Mini Version of the NES was a small / powerful mini console that held 21 games that are / were related to Nintendo. One of these games being Super Mario Bros. 3.  I played Super Mario Bros. 3 from beginning to end on the NES Classic and I have never beaten this game throughout my entire childhood, but I recently accomplished that goal before making this ...
