Fallout 4

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Fallout 4 released on November 10th, 2015.  The overall Fallout series is one of Bethesda's most adored video game series by their fans (as of writing this blog post), and rightfully so. In all Fallout games you are placed in a post-apocalyptic world that you must use to your advantage. Full of hideous monsters and sinful human beings, Fallout (and all its games) is true survival.  Fallout 4 is not only my first Fallout game, but also one of the first open world games I got to experience first-hand.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Fallout 4 takes place in Boston, Massachusetts and also in other parts known as, the Commonwealth.  With over 325 locations to explore / discover (in the base game, as of writing this blog post), you as the player will have an enormous number of discoveries on your hands. The game starts on October 23rd, 2077 and is covered with amazing futurist...

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

- Reviewed on  Switch  - South Park: The Fractured but Whole released on October 17th, 2017.  This South Park title is a direct sequel to the award-winning South Park: The Stick of Truth, both games I am huge fans of and have played multiple times.  South Park: The Fractured but Whole combines everything you love about South Park. It has the same animation style, characters (designs), music, and of course... humor.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... As mentioned, South Park: The Fractured but Whole is a sequel of South Park: The Stick of Truth and this means although you can customize your character differently between both games, the cast of characters still refer to you as The New Kid... or Butthole.  From the beginning you will see that (SPOILER) the main conflict in South Park: The Fractured but Whole, is that both competing superhero franchises, Coon and Friends and Freedom Pals both are aft...

SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants!

- Reviewed on  GameCube  - SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! released on October 19th, 2005.  Combining the enjoyable party-style game genre, with the loveable and memorable SpongeBob cast, SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! is a party title for all to enjoy! This title can be played with up to four others, or by yourself in single player.  Although there are a few flaws (in my opinion) in this SpongeBob game, SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! is still worth your time and proves that older games from past generations can still hold up today. This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... The main, overall gist of SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! is about the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Movie and the auditions / scenes needed to make it. Side note, "auditions" in this game, refers to the minigames in SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! This game doesn't use the ...

Dead or Alive 6

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Dead or Alive 6 released on March 1st, 2019.  Team Ninja's Dead or Alive 6, is their sixth main installment in the Dead or Alive series.  DOA6 is also my first experience with the critically acclaimed, fighting series overall.  Although I tend to not have a long attention span with this title, the time I do spend (spent) with this game is admirable, and of course, a lot of fun! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... The fighting genre in video games has always sparked my interest in a specific way (as of writing this blog post). It honestly comes down to the characters (roster) and story that drive me to purchase and play them.  With DOA6 being my first introduction to the DOA series, the characters seemed to be somewhat intriguing, but at the end of the day, only a few stuck out to me.  Starting with the main campaign, I did enjoy the various, character driven, scenarios fo...

Pac-Man World 2

- Reviewed on  GameCube  - Pac-Man World 2 released on February 24th, 2002.  When Namco released Pac-Man World back in 1999, it was received with great, positive feedback.  Pac-Man World made it to the Greatest Hits category, and it was a matter of time before Namco made the critically acclaimed sequel, three years later.  I personally grew up on Pac-Man World 2, and after buying the game again for GameCube, I was ready to embark on a true nostalgia trip, full of ghosts, pellets, fruits, and more! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... The story of Pac-Man World 2 revolves around the five golden fruits being stolen by the famous four ghosts of the Pac-Man universe, Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde.  As shown in the opening intro, the four, not so sneaky ghosts, invade Pac-Village (at night) and pluck the five golden fruits off the center tree.  This center tree (in Pac-Village) is called The Golden...

Outlast 2

- Reviewed on  Switch  - Outlast 2 released on April 24th, 2017.  Set in the same universe as the first Outlast, Outlast 2 is a heart stopping, stress inducing nightmare for anyone wanting to play it.  Filled with chases, puzzles, and of course, gore, Outlast 2 lives up to its predecessor.  It might not be as scary as the first Outlast (in my opinion), but it is definitely worth playing to see the journey involved. This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Red Barrels are the developers of Outlast and Outlast 2, and from the first Outlast game, I know they would hold nothing back in terms of disturbing horror.  Scenes in Outlast 2 made me feel absolutely disgusted and uneasy. However, that is the point of making a successful horror title.  Outlast 2 takes place in Northern Arizona where you play as Blake Langermann, the main protagonist of this ten-hour game.  The game starts with you and your ...

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Resident Evil 7: Biohazard released on January 23rd, 2017.  Using the brand new (at its time) Resident Evil Game Engine, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard went back to its roots of being a great horror experience (in my opinion).  Combining the action sequences of past RE titles, and the famous RE puzzles their known for, RE7 is a perfect blend of Resident Evil features that some say, saved the franchise from becoming stale.   This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... You take on the role of main protagonist Ethan Winters (making his series debut).  After a video emerges of his long-lost wife, Mia, Ethan heads to Dulvey, Louisiana where a whole nightmare is waiting for him. During my first, initial playthrough of RE7, I was terrified beyond belief.  RE7 kind of gave me my first, true horror experience, and was one of the first Resident Evil titles I played / owned.  This sca...
