The Sims 4

- Reviewed on PS4 -

The Sims 4 released on September 2nd, 2014.

I have personally played a few Sims games in my days, but The Sims 4 is definitely my top pick as the best Sims game on the market.

This review WILL have Major Spoilers so keep that in mind before continuing...

"Sims" are the names of the people you play as within the game(s).

You create, live, and decide what all the Sims do in your world!

You can choose from a plethora of careers to assign to any of your Sims!

The Sims 4 offers careers such as:

    - Actor / Actress
    - Astronaut
    - Athlete
    - Business
    - Civil Designer (DLC)
    - Conservationist (DLC)
    - Criminal
    - Critic (DLC)
    - Culinary
    - Detective (DLC)
    - Doctor (DLC)
    - Education (DLC)
    - Engineer (DLC)
    - Entertainer
    - Freelancer
    - Gardener (DLC)
    - Law (DLC)
    - Military (DLC)
    - Painter
    - Politician (DLC)
    - Scientist (DLC)
    - Secret Agent
    - Social Media
    - Style Influencer
    - Tech Guru
    - Writer

There is also Part Time jobs your Sims can have such as a...

    - Babysitter,
    - Barista,
    - Diver,
    - Fast Food Employee,
    - Fisherman, etc.

One major point about this game I truly loved is the longevity this game has. There are endless ways to play!

The Sims 4 is one of the first games I ever got for my PlayStation 4 and as of writing this review, I still play it to this day!

There is plenty of Trophies / Achievements for all the perfectionists out there (including myself) to try to unlock.

Obviously controlling this game, and any Sims game as a matter of fact, will always be better on PC using just a mouse but after playing this game on PS4, the controls can get a little confusing, especially for brand new players.

For PS4 owners there is two major interfaces, one for actions and the other to see the Sim's needs and requirements.

To toggle between these two interfaces, you push the center motion button on your controller inwards and then you can get to playing!

Of course, you can live the action in The Sims 4, but you can also build!

In The Sims 4, you can build all your houses, neighborhoods, parks, and more!

With their extensive number of decorations and plants, you can build all different combinations.

The Sims 4 also has an online / offline gallery updated regularly (after each update) that allows you to use other players / staff's creations free of charge if you don't feel like building or creating Sims.

Not only that but you can buy additional content with their huge amount of DLCs including Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat, Cool Kitchen Stuff, and much more!

EA also has extra fun content for signing in with your EA account!

You essentially play God in your huge world of Sims, and the possibilities are endless! Make a criminal, an artist, an athlete, a gamer, make anyone you can imagine and live their reality!

I personally found myself playing this game hours at a time, this game to me sucks me in each and every time. This game is great to just play while listening to music or podcasts.

Building is just a wonderful time in my opinion. With the constant updates and new content, I find myself amazed of how much this game gives me each and every month or so.

However, there is a few flaws within this game. This might just be a PS4 problem, but I found that if there is a date going on in your game between two Sims, the framerate drops horribly.

Also giving commands on this game might also delay and cause mishaps with your Sim(s).

Other than this, I find The Sims 4 to be one of those games to play while listening to something else.

It is not a game I play and listen to because the sounds and audio of this game just doesn't fit me to well.

Creating Sims, Building Everything, Maintaining Relationships, and Living your Sims Reality is something The Sims 4 has mastered, and I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Simulation games such as myself!

Pros

    - Creating Sims is so detailed and has a lot of variety
    - Building houses is very easy to accomplish and includes a gallery of other players houses to use
    - There is endless possibilities of careers and hobbies for your Sims
    - Many worlds and plots of land for you to build / live on
    - Game is updated a lot which means the developers care for this game unlike other simulation games
    - Tons and Tons of additional content
    - Longevity

Cons:

    - Framerate drops occasionally (PS4)
    - Very expensive DLCs
    - Command delays
    - Loading Times is unbelievably long (especially if game isn't updated) (PS4)

My Rating for The Sims 4 (on PS4):

4 / 5
