The Walking Dead: No Man's Land
- Reviewed on Mobile -
Survivors in this game are randomized characters, male and female, and you can customize these characters with different outfits that have appeared on the television show The Walking Dead.
You can upgrade survivors' equipment as well including their Weapons and Armor. You can change their names and also train them to become more powerful and withstand more damage.
The hub location of No Man's Land is a campsite in which you can buy, upgrade, trade, heal, collect, and train.
The Walking Dead: No Man's Land released on October 7th, 2015.
This mobile game is one of many Walking Dead games on mobile devices and in my opinion, No Man's Land is a massive hit and is the best so far to hit mobile stores!
This review WILL have Major Spoilers so keep that in mind before continuing...
The Walking Dead: No Man's Land is a turn-based strategy game where you control a team of survivors to eliminate Zombies (Walkers) and earn rewards such as Money, Gas (required to do missions), Food, Gold, and Crates (later in game).
You can upgrade survivors' equipment as well including their Weapons and Armor. You can change their names and also train them to become more powerful and withstand more damage.
One feature I loved as a fan of the show was the inclusion of Walking Dead characters as playable survivors in No Man's Land.
The list of characters from the show that are included in No Man's Land is below...
- Daryl
- Maggie
- Rosita
- Rick
- Michonne
- Carl
- Shane
- T-Dog
- Carol
- Jesus
- Morgan
- Sasha
- Tara
- Glenn
- Negan
- Alpha
- Beta
- Ezekiel
- Jerry
- Aaron
- Eugene
- Gabriel
- Governor
- Merle
- Dwight
- Rufus
- Abraham
To unlock these special survivors, you need character tokens, and this is one of the down sides in my opinion.
Some characters require lots of tokens (for example, Michonne needs 500 tokens) while some others only require a little (for example, Jesus only needs 60).
The problem is that tokens are very hard to come by and unless you are willing to pay real money for those tokens, you're stuck with the limited four tokens every six plus hours from the Trade Goods Store (requires Crates).
There are daily missions in which you can get trophies and these trophies are used to unlock chests which contain very good equipment and even tokens occasionally.
There is a main campaign in No Man's Land and there are also many other mission types to take your crew out on and accomplish.
Examples of mission types you can do are Season Missions, Challenges, Chapter Missions, Scavenge Missions, Outpost Missions, Guild Wars, and The Distance.
Survivors are separated into classes which include Assault, Scout, Bruiser, Hunter, Shooter, and more.
The Walking Dead: No Man's Land is a blast to pick up and play whenever and if you're a fan of the series and a fan of mobile games, then this game is a must have!
It's a free game but also has micro transactions. The best part is that you can unlock everything without spending a penny and those mobile games appeal to me more than your other cash grab mobile games.
Pros:
- Easy to Understand Gameplay
- Generous Amounts of Free Gold
- Original Walking Dead Characters
- Great Graphics for a Mobile Game
- Interesting Story (Sticks with Walking Dead Themes)
- Walking Dead TV Show Missions (From Various Seasons)
Cons:
- Build / Upgrade / Waiting Times are Long
- Ridiculous Number of Tokens to Unlock Characters
- Pricey Micro Transactions
My Rating for The Walking Dead: No Man's Land (on Mobile):
4 / 5
