Life is Strange: Before the Storm

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Life is Strange: Before the Storm released on August 31st, 2017.  Life is Strange has quickly become one of my favorite video game series of all time.  Both the first Life is Strange and the prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm capture a perfect story, character development, cause and effect, etc.  Life is Strange: Before the Storm takes place three years before the events of the first game, in the same location of Arcadia Bay.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... In the first game, we all got to explore the world in Max Caulfield's point of view.  We got to see what Max became during the horrific events of the storm, drama, deaths, etc.  Now, in Life is Strange: Before the Storm, we get to go back in time (three years) and see how Chloe Price views the world (if not already obvious enough in the first title).  Story telling was / is the main game mechanic ...

Layers of Fear

- Reviewed on  Switch  - Layers of Fear released on February 16th, 2016.  To me, I went into this game completely blind with the expectations to have a very scary gaming experience, instead I got more of a walking simulator game with only a few scary moments, and the rest of the game was puzzle related.  Layers of Fear has its fair share of creepy, uncomfortable moments but in the end, this title failed to give me the horror aspects I have grown to love in video games.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... You play as a painter who slowly goes mad trying to get the perfect painting masterpiece.  With your daughter gone (SPOILER) because she was taken to a new home / family, and your wife unfortunately dead, the main protagonist must suffer through the horrific process of constant flashbacks and nightmares.  The main issue I have with Layers of Fear is the fact that there is only two chapters th...

Bloons TD 6

- Reviewed on  Mobile  - Bloons TD 6 released on June 14th, 2018.  As the name implies, Bloons TD 6 is the sixth installment in the official Ninja Kiwi Bloons TD series. I have been a fan of this series for years now and I can truly say, this Bloons TD title is the best in the whole series for many reasons. This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... One aspect of this game that overcomes all others is how addictive this game is.  Bloons TD 6 is by far the most addictive mobile game I have ever played, and this game has been installed on my iPhone for the longest time now and I don't see myself deleting it anytime soon.  For newcomers of this series, the Bloons TD series by Ninja Kiwi is a tower defense game (hence the abbreviation TD) where you play as various Monkeys and try to stop hordes of balloons from reaching the exit.  The Bloons TD series by Ninja Kiwi was one of the first tower defense game seri...

WWE 2K19

- Reviewed on  PS4  - WWE 2K19 released on October 9th, 2018.  Including DLC characters (wrestlers / superstars), WWE 2K19 has an astonishing 252 playable characters from Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and more! Even with some flaws here and there, WWE 2K19 is definitely one of my favorite WWE games out there and coming from a hardcore WWE fan perspective, that says a lot for this sport simulation title.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... WWE 2K19 has a lot of the same game modes as the previous titles with a few additions though.  There is a lot more match rules that you can change and the amount of wrestlers in a match up is increased as well. People around the wrestling gaming world tend not to enjoy sport simulation games (specifically for wrestling), but for me, I personally like this style of wrestling genre more than the arcade style and WWE 2K19 is by far the most visually impressive and gameplay impres...

Outlast

- Reviewed on  Switch  - Outlast released on September 4th, 2013.  Outlast, the one game where I am happy when doors are locked and I can't get through that area.  Outlast is a survival horror game from 2013 by Red Barrel Studios and it's a game that has been on my radar for years.  I finally found the perfect opportunity to play this title on my switch due to a Halloween sale and I am very happy that I picked this game up digitally to play for this years Halloween (2020).  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... You play as the main protagonist, Miles Upshur, who is a journalist and is covering a story about Mount Massive Asylum.  This story came to Mile's eye from an email that you collect automatically in the beginning of the game.  Instantly I got a bad feeling from the looks of Mount Massive Asylum.   A streak of fear hit me when I first pulled up to this Asylum and that was de...
