PAC-MAN MUSEUM+

PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ released on May 27th, 2022.

With tons upon tons of Pac-Man games out there in the ether, being able to have a compilation of these games is not a foreign concept for BANDAI NAMCO.

I've seen plenty of Pac-Man bundle games before and have played a few of them. But, by far, my most played one, and most enjoyed one, is PAC-MAN MUSEUM+.

With online leaderboards, local multiplayer, in-game missions, rewards, and much more to experience, PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ is a terrific compilation, that, I believe, stomps out the rest!

This review WILL have Major Spoilers so keep that in mind before continuing...

The gimmick behind PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ is the ability to build your own arcade.

This arcade of yours serves as the game's main, hub world.

Besides playing all the Pac-Man titles included in this compilation, the main gameplay feature is unlocking cabinets, decorations, figures, wallpapers, and floorings for your arcade.

I had a lot of fun decorating my own arcade and found myself re-decorating a ton of times too, as the sheer amount of unlockables is healthy in size.

You can only have 70 items placed at a time though. I was disappointed you couldn't upgrade the size of the arcade, but I digress.

To actually unlock these decorations, and start forming your own arcade, you need to actually play the included Pac-Man titles, to then complete missions, as stated earlier.

PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ includes 14 beloved games from the past. Including...

    - Pac-Man
    - Super Pac-Man
    - Pac & Pal
    - Pac-Land
    - Pac-Mania
    - Pac-Attack
    - Pac-In-Time
    - Pac-Man Arrangement Arcade
    - Pac-Man Arrangement CS
    - Pac-Man Championship Edition
    - Pac Motos
    - Pac'n Roll Remix
    - Pac-Man Battle Royale
    - Pac-Man 256

I have to give PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ huge credit personally, as this compilation brought me back to Pac-Man Arrangement. 

This Pac-Man game was a childhood staple of mine! 

I remembered playing this specific title on the Game Boy Advance SP for hours, and when I unlocked Pac-Man Arrangement in this Switch game, I went down memory lane heavily and beat the entire game in one sitting!

I mentioned "unlocking" games, as in PAC-MAN MUSEUM+, not all 14 games are available to play right away. 

This circles back to the missions, that differ, per cabinet game. 

These missions unlock decorations, yes, but they also unlock more games, and even characters that will roam your arcade too!

Tokens are in PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ too, and these can be earned by simply playing arcade cabinets.

You can also redeem these tokens, if you wish, using the Gashapon. 

The Gashapon is where figures can be unlocked, but they are random. 

These figures are mainly of characters and have different variety ratings. 

These figures also come in bronze, silver, and gold! Who doesn't love decorating their arcade in gold figures?!

I did experience some frame rate drops during higher levels in certain Pac-Man titles, but nothing game breaking.

While decorating your arcade, or simply chilling inside it, you can play tracks from all 14 titles with the Jukebox.

Be aware though, as these tracks must be unlocked first, by doing the missions.

Lastly, in the arcade, you can use the vending machine to buy furniture for your arcade.

This can be space consuming though, as again, my main issue, is with the arcade size limit, not being able to increase.

PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ is short and sweet. Decorate your own arcade, play famous Pac-Man games from the past, and enjoy them either alone, or in multiplayer. 

This compilation on Switch is perfect for mobile gameplay, and I can't recommend it enough!

    - Polished Graphics
    - Multiplayer
    - Endless Longevity

Cons:

    - Can't Upgrade Arcade Size (as of writing this blog post)
    - Very Rare Frame Rate Drops during High Levels

Layers of Fear

- Reviewed on  Switch  - Layers of Fear released on February 16th, 2016.  To me, I went into this game completely blind with the expectations to have a very scary gaming experience, instead I got more of a walking simulator game with only a few scary moments, and the rest of the game was puzzle related.  Layers of Fear has its fair share of creepy, uncomfortable moments but in the end, this title failed to give me the horror aspects I have grown to love in video games.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Stardew Valley

- Reviewed on  Switch  - Stardew Valley released on February 26th, 2016.  When it comes to relaxing, stress free games to enjoy, you would be crazy if you did not pick up Stardew Valley.  Stardew Valley has the enjoyment to bring gamers and even non-gamers to the playing field.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Your journey begins when (SPOILER) your grandfather passes away and he grants you his farm land, which of course you rename and customize as you wish. I think there could've been a better way to see how you gain your farmland, but even though I wasn't a fan of this opening, the rest of this enormous, glorious game made up for it.
