Barnyard

- Reviewed on  GameCube  - Barnyard released on August 1st, 2006. Following the same events that happened in the 2006 Nickelodeon movie of the same name (Barnyard), the Barnyard video game title is a single player adventure / action game that tries its best to relive the entire events of the movie. I was a fan of the 2006 movie as a kid and after playing this game years later for the first time, I believe this game could've had more work put into it, but the developers, Blue Tongue Entertainment and Halfbrick Studios, did what they could with the current technology of the time.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Right off the bat with this title, you'll notice that Barnyard is a minigame mash-up sort of deal in terms of gameplay. The hub world is an impressive map size for the time and revolves around you playing as a new cow (male or female), and winning minigames with all sorts of cannon characters from the s...

Injustice: Gods Among Us

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Injustice: Gods Among Us released on April 16th, 2013. For this specific review of Injustice: Gods Among Us, I will be discussing the Ultimate Edition (on PS4). There is also a mobile game for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but that won't be discussed due to the varied differences compared to the console title.  Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Injustice: Gods Among Us is an action / fighting game that puts you in control of various DC heroes / villains in intense one on one combat. This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Injustice: Gods Among Us is a solid approach to the fighting game genre that offers players a wide variety of 30 characters, each with their own unique combos, special moves, victory scenes, and more! The Ultimate Edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us gives gamers a lot more content to not only improve the longevity of the game, but also gives players new cosmetics (skins), character...

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality

- Reviewed on  PSVR  - Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality released on April 15th, 2017. Developed by Owlchemy Labs and Other Ocean Group, Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is a short but very enjoyable VR (Virtual Reality) experience for fans of the Rick and Morty series / franchise. With fun minigames and scenarios that put the VR capabilities to its test, Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is a great title to play if you're a beginner to VR or even a seasoned player! This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is about two hours in length, however, upon completing the humorous story, Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is more about the sandbox nature of gameplay.  When entering this title, you are greeted each time with an optimizing feature that allows you to adjust your Clone Morty's (you) height and help the game calibrate all your VR equipment.  For PSVR at least, you'll nee...

Golden Axe

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Golden Axe released on January 27th, 1989. Although released a long time ago, I got the pleasure of reliving one of SEGA's most enjoyable Side-Scrolling, Beat 'em Up games (in my opinion), Golden Axe, as a part of the SEGA Genesis Classics title for PS4. With memorable music and fun / creative enemy designs, Golden Axe is a great retro classic to visit (or revisit) as a gamer. This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... This retro title released originally back in 1989, and still, to this day, has an absolutely terrific soundtrack from beginning to end! Definitely the best aspect of Golden Axe is the music, and during your short, one hour, playthrough of the whole game, you'll listen (and battle) to intense boss fight tracks and even fun and relaxing tracks.  The music is, of course, what you'd expect with old, retro games, with its very repetitive rhythms and short tempo beats, but Golden Axe's orc...

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare released on November 4th, 2016. Some Call of Duty fans in the community may have their gripes with the futuristic approach Call of Duty has presented itself with before but Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (in my opinion) contains a lot more features and surprises within its range of game modes that overlooks the negativism.  Developers Infinity Ward did a good job telling an engaging story that persuaded me into sticking around and caring about the majority of the characters involved.  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has three main game modes, identical to its previous installments.  Almost like every other Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has a Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. The campaign (in my opinion) has the most enjoyable gameplay, and the seven-hour (average) story isn't that bad either. You pla...

Horizon Forbidden West

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Horizon Forbidden West released on February 18th, 2022. Five years after the successful title, Horizon Zero Dawn, released, Guerrilla Games graced us fans with an award-winning sequel, named Horizon Forbidden West.  With incredible graphics, lighting, voice actors, plot, and open world, Horizon Forbidden West lives up to its predecessor, and even (in my opinion) goes further in terms of player expectation!  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Horizon Forbidden West puts us back in control of main protagonist, Aloy, as she must venture outside her native home, towards the Forbidden West.  Familiar characters like Sylens, Varl, and Erend (just to name a few), all appear in Horizon Forbidden West, as they all play crucial parts to Horizon Forbidden West's outstanding story! However, before we discuss the plot, I must discuss Horizon Forbidden West's controls / gameplay, as it is a vas...

Call of Duty: WWII

- Reviewed on  PS4  - Call of Duty: WWII released on November 3rd, 2017. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the same team behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and even Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: WWII takes you inside the historic events of World War Two and all the major battles that occurred throughout its history.  With outstanding graphics, memorable characters, great sound design, and an intense overall theme of war each level, Call of Duty: WWII is one of the most memorable Call of Duty titles I have ever played (as of writing this blog post).  This review WILL have  Major Spoilers  so keep that in mind before continuing... Keeping with the same Call of Duty tradition, Call of Duty: WWII has three main game modes for you to enjoy either in single or multiplayer.  The three, base game modes are...     - Campaign     - Multiplayer     - Zombies The campaign was, hands down, the most memorable and enjoyabl...
